Meet the Owner - John Newell
John Newell is the founder and President of Graceful Transitions Moving, as well as the owner of our Senior Move Management company, Graceful Transitions. Beginning in 2015, John started the moving and clear out company to assist clients with all aspects of their relocations, while providing an honest and compassionate approach. In 2020, the reins of Graceful Transitions were passed from his aunt, Donna Eichelberger, founder of the company in 2007. The two companies have formed an amazing complementary relationship in five years, built on an amazing team of staff members.
John received a degree in Finance from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania in 2007. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, he spent 10 years working for a non-profit child abuse prevention agency in Pittsburgh, PA. While working at the agency he met his now wife, Maggie, who enjoys occasionally pulling him away from work for long weekends at a beach. Their cat, Diesel, and dogs, Louis and Marty, sometimes tag along, too!

Family Owned & Operated
OUR STORY
Graceful Transitions was started in 2007 by John's aunt, Donna Eichelberger, as a senior move management company. Donna started her business with employees who all shared her desire to grow the company while helping seniors and their families. In the ensuing years Graceful Transitions acquired more employees and many wonderful clients.

As a move management company, Graceful Transitions worked along side many moving companies for clients' jobs. This is where Donna's nephew, John Newell, saw an entrepreneurial opportunity. In 2015, John started GT Senior Services, a moving company specializing in senior moving. Graceful Transitions and GT Senior Services worked side by side, yet independently of each other for the next 5 years. The two companies complimented each other greatly and even began servicing clients of all ages.

In 2020, Graceful Transitions and GT Senior Services merged into one company, keeping the reputable name Graceful Transitions. Donna passed the torch to John who is now the owner of Graceful Transitions. Although responsibilities shifted some, John and Donna still worked together to continue to grow the company until Donna retired in 2022. Graceful Transitions now offers all of our original services, as well as those that had been supplied by GT Senior Services, to clients of all ages. Our goal is to provide you with all of your moving and transitioning services under one roof. Relax, we'll take it from here.
Meet Our Mascots - Louis (Lou) & Peep

Every great company needs a great team—and ours wouldn’t be complete without our four-legged ambassadors, Lou and Peep!

Lou the Pug belongs to our owner, John. With his laid-back charm and soulful eyes, Lou represents the wisdom and care that go into every move we make. He’s the steady presence behind the scenes, reminding us to approach every job with patience and heart. Just don't leave food unattended around him!
Peep the French Bulldog belongs to our office manager, Jennifer—the friendly voice you hear when you call us. True to her Frenchie personality, Peep is spunky, full of character, and always ready to bring a smile. She embodies the energy and warmth we want every customer to feel.

Together, Lou and Peep carry big responsibilities as the official faces of our company. From starring in photos to representing our brand’s personality, they help remind us (and our customers) that downsizing and moving, while big tasks, can still have heart, humor, and a little wag of the tail.
